Keep going

Recently I wrote a weekly email about change and that as a leader in health you will find yourself having to deliver or embed change. This could be change you want to make or it could be 'suggested' or you could be expected. Either way, the spotlight is on you and you have to make something happen.

This can be tough and you'll need to find what keeps you motivated, inspired and digging in day after day. Having a browse through the Jedi topics I write a lot about how to look after yourself, pick yourself up and what you need to do to keep going. Probably because I fall down a lot, and am always working on ways to keep myself going.

Your Square Squad will keep you upright, grounded and be there for a hug/wine/cry/vent and pat you on the back as you head back in. I've been known to send quite a few emails with 'help' in the subject line.

When you think you aren't getting anywhere, remembering three good things every day will build your resilience and celebrate the small steps along the way.

Know what you need for wellbeing - I was asked this week, how I did what I did. Given how grumpy and tired I felt, the feedback alone was a pick me up - but I reflected.....I hadn't been sleeping well and I'd let my usual walks to work be replaced by lifts in the car.

I've updated the playlist since this blog post but the idea is the same. Music gets me in a positive frame in the morning.

I don't know about you but I have a tendency to ruminate - chewing the cud it turns out is not the best use of your time or energy.

There are a couple of ideas that go against the grain of our current world and seem illogical when you are working hard on delivering what you need to do - such as slowing down and single-tasking.

Hang in there, you're doing great and stay human.....
